He can’t sleep. He knows he should but he can’t, and he wouldn’t even be able to explain why. All he knows is that there is a pit in his stomach, his mind is racing, and his heart feels like it’s ready to explode. Laying in bed felt strange, like the plush mattress was mocking him for his inability to use it for its intended purpose; laying on the floor felt more stable somehow, and thus, one of Hell’s most powerful overlords found himself laying on the floor, staring at the ceiling. Why, you may ask? Because he was being mocked by his bed.
God, talk about rock bottom.

Summary
When sinners manifest in Hell, they’re essentially immortal and can only permanently die by the hands of an exorcist. They can regenerate, but they will still feel all the effects of whatever was harming them; immortality and invulnerability, apparently, did not go hand in hand.
This also meant that viruses and infections routinely made their way around Pentagram City much like they did in the living world, and their effects were almost always experienced tenfold. The fact of the matter was that Hell was, in fact, hell.
