Summary
He’s too compromised, but John can’t bring himself to think too much about that. The care he feels for these men has taken root so deep it’s never coming free, and John doesn’t want it to. Once, he thought nothing mattered more than his job. Not his sanity, not his purity, not his morals. He got dirty, so the world got clean. Now. Now, he knows nothing matters than the three men he considers his.
Or, John Price's relationship with people over the years.

Summary
For a moment, Soap let the silence sink in. Let himself shift his gaze slightly to the side and rest on Ghost’s thick thigh, fat with the softness of his relaxed muscle, lightly dusted with fine blond hairs. He wanted to sweep the tips of his fingers delicately over those hairs, see if they were as downy as they looked. Wanted to see the way Ghost’s muscles would twitch at the sensation, wanted to see if he’d shy away or press into the touch. Wanted to know if he’d like it.
Would probably end up with a knife in his gut, but at this point, Soap thought it was probably worth it. For one touch, it might be worth it.
It's 3:30 in the morning, and Soap and Ghost can't sleep. How will they pass the time.

Summary
When he said he didn't believe that Ghost was attractive, he was only teasing his superior in their usual manner. He practically knew that Ghost was drop-dead gorgeous under that mask.
But he actually was ugly.

Summary
He remembers the first time something had brought him a corpse. A bird, matted with blood and viscera, caught between the maws of a cat that had stared up at him with its wide, innocent eyes. Bloody and proud. He remembers taking it, holding its cooling corpse between his hands and watching the blood drip onto the concrete sidewalk in methodical drip, drip, drips.
It was the first time someone had ever killed for him. He looks at the Sargeant, really looks at Johnny for what must be the first time without anything clouding his vision, and thinks, it would not be the last.
or, ghost, soap, and a study on love, lust and hunger. it's all the same any way you dissect it; the same in every way it matters.

Summary
“So, not that I’m complaining, or anything,” Gaz starts, and Soap knows he’s in for it, “But how come I’m not being traumatized by sexual harassment on the comms anymore?”
Soap chews his eggs slowly, because Gaz is his best mate, and he doesn’t want to lie to him, but it’s not exactly as if he can just say “Icarus’d it, mate, flew too close to the damn sun and got burnt and now it’s over.”
He shrugs a little instead, obfuscates, says, “Dunno.”
“Well that’s bollocks,” Gaz scoffs, “Wanna try again?”
