    “You never forget?”

“No,” Shane breathes out. “No, I never forget.”

    Except Ilya does.

    He forgets his wedding ring.

    And Shane notices.

For a second, his brain refuses to cooperate. It offers him the image of the ring anyway. The familiar ring that’s always on his finger. Automatic and he can picture it perfectly: warm gold, slightly scuffed from years of wear, catching the light when Ilya moves his hands the way he always does.

    Expressive and careless and alive.

    But it isn’t there.

    Summary

“I was thinking about the honeymoon phase thing.”
    “Yes?” Ilya said.
“I think it’s different for us. I don’t want us to be all blissful and then only start fighting when we’re back to barely seeing each other. I think it’s good if we figure things out now, when we have the time. Whatever needs figuring out. So we have a solid foundation going into the season. Sort of like training camp.”
“So this means you will keep getting mad at me for things,” Ilya said.
Shane smiled, rolled his eyes. “Yeah, exactly,” he said.
“Good, I find it very hot,” Ilya said, and kissed him.

    An insecure over-thinker and a self-destructive thrill-seeker walk into a relationship.

“I would’ve brought you breakfast if you’d stayed in bed a little longer,” he said.

“I know,” Ilya said. “You are very good to me.”

Shane felt as warm as he would have if he had brought Ilya breakfast.

“You want to finish mine?” Shane asked. “I’m full.”

When Ilya nodded he handed over his scraps. Ilya didn’t start eating straight away, though. He said, “Am I good to you?”

    Summary

Still, he’s felt like absolute shit for weeks, and the idea of sitting in his hotel room, where he would probably masturbate, cry, and have another night of fitful sleep, did not make him feel any better. Getting to be skin to skin with Ilya Rozanov did. And surely Rozanov wouldn’t be demanding Shane make a nest in his damn bed if he didn’t fully intend on actually kissing him in it and keeping him there until morning, right?

Maybe that would be enough to pick Shane up out of this drop, keep it from happening again.

    OR

After not sending the "we didn't kiss" text, Shane's omega hormones go into distress mode. Despite trying to hide his symptoms and play through the misery, when Ilya Rozanov finds out what's going on, the alpha Shane's body wants most is determined to fix it.

    Summary

When Aziraphale, a halfling ill-suited to adventuring, cannot convince the university library he works for to try and recover a lost book of prophecy, he sets off to try and find it himself. Of course he is almost immediately waylaid and captured by giant bugs. When his attempt to escape them goes awry, he manages to use his previously unhelpful celestial abilities to summon a huge otherworldly snake to help him fight them. But the snake turns out to be a demon, and the demon wants to tag along with Aziraphale, and help him in his quest... in exchange for the chance to tempt him. And he is so very tempted.

What he doesn't realize is that Crowley is just as fascinated by him as he is by Crowley, and that by the end of the day Crowley will feel just as indebted to him as he does to Crowley.

(And also, by the way, they're both idiots.)

"Is that a talking snake?" said the woman.

    "Where?" said the snake.

"Apparently not," said Aziraphale. "Let's not ask each other too many questions just now."

"Right, yeah. Just one more, though, are you using that?" the man asked, pointing at the sword, which Aziraphale had completely forgot about in the chaos. He suddenly remembered that it existed, and that his arms ached from carrying it, and he couldn't imagine trying to swing it at anything, but these two were human, probably -- or at least, they were bigger folk than he was, which he supposed didn't narrow it down much -- and he was excited at the prospect of fobbing the sword off on someone who had more use for it.

"Take it," he said, performing a quick blessing on the blade, one he'd tried to make work time and time again in his younger years. To his mild surprise it actually worked this time, and the sword he gave to the man shone with rippling light like a white-hot flame.

"Nice," said the man, and, oh, yes, he definitely knew what he was doing with the sword, for he stepped forward into the mass of bugs and began fighting alongside the serpent.
