Ed is used to taking care of himself.
He's also used to taking care of others, like James and Alex, because sometimes they're little and they need caring for. It doesn't matter what Greg says; he doesn't have to be little like they do. He doesn't need people to look after him. Never has. And he's spent his whole life proving that, and hiding the truth, and he's gotten very good at it. If it wasn't for that stupid task, no one would even have found out! No one would be treating him like he's any different. He's still him, he's still the same Ed. He can be big if he wants to.
Throwing a massive tantrum in the park whilst watching Little Alex Horne play football kind of puts a dent in that plan.

Ranboo is quite tall, this is an inescapable fact. There are good things about it just as there are bad things and even neutral things, just as there would be had he been any other height. It doesn't usually bother him, at least not in a way that's consistently obtrusive or apparent, but one particular thing seems to be nagging at him lately. He's not going to let it get to him, not with his upcoming stay at the Watsons'. He can't be all down in the dumps when he meets Technoblade for the first time, after all!
(On second thought, maybe being upset about it isn't so bad as long as Techno is there.)
Or,
Ranboo's imposing height often makes it somewhat of an inconvenience to be cradled or carried. It's not really that big of a deal, honest, he just sort of hadn't realized exactly how much he might want that until now, is all.

It was honestly a great day for a funeral. The sky was just grey enough to be slightly depressing, but with only a small chance of rain and a good amount of light for picture evidence that the funeral occurred. A drizzle would make for good ambiance but also ruin his hair, so that was fine.
Tommy elbowed him in the side. “You’re supposed to be more depressed!” He whispered.
“Oh I’m sorry,” Techno whispered back, “I’m not supposed to be the emotional one here! That’s your job!”

Summary
Martyn's boots crunch against leaves and gravel as he approaches the house, the small flyer clutched in one hand. It looks like any other old house, albeit tinged with the same eeriness that plagues this area. The windows are dirty, and the highest window, which Martyn can only assume is the attic, is boarded over. The eaves slope in odd places, and the front step creaks loudly as Martyn steps up to the door.
This house, he notices, boasts yet another willow, tall and looming over the house’s back windows. It, too, has lost most of its leaves, its branches abandoned to sway in the wind, creaking and scratching against each other and the wall.
The willow isn't the only sound. Martyn can hear another odd noise, but he can't for the life of him place what it's supposed to be. It sounds kind of like something wailing on the wind... is that the beast the flyer was for?
Or, Martyn takes a job to slay a beast trapped within a family's attic.

Etho rounded a corner and blinked, startling as he stopped dead. The figure was nowhere to be seen. He hesitated before looking down a darkened alley, just a stretch of dirt between two rickety storefronts. No one. Etho’s brows furrowed.
Without warning, a body crashed into him from behind, pinning him against the sun-bleached siding before he could blink. There was a tense and breathless shuffle that ended in one of Etho’s arms twisted up behind his back, and the other trapped between his torso and the wall itself. A hand slapped roughly over his sides, patting him down until it found his holster, and then scrambling under his coat to pull out the six-shooter, cock it, and point it at the back of his head.
“What do you want,” the figure behind him growled.
“Hi Tango,” said Etho, breathlessly.

“Uh, Techno?” Phil asked behind him. His voice sounded higher than usual, a bit worried, and still amused. “Don’t remember things lookin’ like this last time I was here.”
Techno spun around to face the rest of his party. Ranboo was still a head higher than anyone else in the group, but he was significantly shorter than the players around them. Niki had her hair in pigtails and one of her front teeth was missing. Phil’s wings, tucked behind his back, were fuzzy. None of them had any of the weapons or armour they should, and they looked like they were about eight years old at max.
And Techno could see eye-to-eye with his friends, which really did seem to imply he was also a child.
“Absolutely not,” Techno said, turning and marching across the courtyard. He had to push his way between adults in armour. “I’m not dealin’ with this.”
Or: Techno takes the Syndicate to visit Sky Block and disaster strikes. At the height of the Potato War. He feels great about this.

Hesitantly, he presses a trembling hand to the glass.
The entire universe is spread out underneath his finger tips, hundreds upon hundreds of stars swirling in constellations he doesn't know, a melting pot of dazzling colors, vivid pinks and deep blues, swatches of yellow and green.
If he squints, he can make out planets. Tiny little dots, hardly bigger than the nail on his pinky finger. That little grey one must be Lestea, the trade moon they just left, but the others? he has no idea.
One of them must be earth. How ironic is that he's the first human to ever leave the Milky Way Galaxy, and all he wants to do is go back home?
(In other words; After rescuing Tommy, sbi and co. embark on a roadtrip through the Esempi Galaxy to return him to his home planet, Earth. They make a few pit stops, piss off some shopkeepers, make some strange friends, and learn how to be family along the way)

“Just in time,” Tommy smiled, wiggling his toes by the fire. “My toes have gained all their feeling back!” He told proudly, his head following Techno as the man walked over beside the fireplace and unceremoniously kicked off his shoes to dry out.
Techno dropped the logs by the fireplace with a clatter before he looked over at where Tommy’s legs were planted up on the small wooden table. In the orange light, Techno noted how they looked more cut up and bruised with red blisters already forming, things that had been hidden before by the freezing pale-blue frostbite.
“Somehow, they look worse,” He jabbed lightly, watching as Tommy’s prideful face fell into annoyance.
