"Didn't feel like talking." Sylus doesn't move from his relaxed position, but his gaze hasn't left Caleb. "That warrant a welfare check?"
"Apparently."
The scent is everywhere. It's soaked into the furniture, the air, probably the damn walls. Caleb's training screams at him that this is wrong. Betas aren't supposed to notice pheromones like this, aren't supposed to feel the way his pulse has kicked up or how his skin feels too warm.
"You can come further inside," Sylus says, amusement threading through his voice. "I don't bite. Usually."
Caleb stays exactly where he is. "You look fine. I'll let her know."
"All the way here just to turn around?" Those red eyes glint in the low light. "How disappointing."
Caleb should leave. Every logical thought in his head is telling him to make an excuse, step back into that elevator, and pretend this never happened.
Instead, his feet carry him forward.

“No,” Ace answers hotly. He’s near snarling, to be followed up with a tell-off, a barked order, an insult, except it’s all outdone by action, Luffy’s pistol fist bashing through the makeshift wooden walls. Ace curses and sits up.
Flopping his zany, jointless arm around, Luffy yanks the lock, right where he knew it would be. Then he slams the door open with his bright, searching eyes and face-splitting grin. “Ace! Happy birthday!”
And there’s his scent, dirty and tangy and sunny– it’s off-putting, too much. At 13, Luffy is rank with alpha puberty. Not terribly unlike Ace himself, he imagines, which always makes him wonder how the hell Luffy stands it. He doesn’t just tolerate it, he follows it.

Dick is sure to slobber a little over it just to see Tim lick at it when he takes the bottle back, red lips around the edge and keeping eye contact with him while he slugs down the rest of the drink. His heart ratchets up a little, the room getting hotter, and then Tim puts it on the counter behind him. He's got to bend backwards a little, his flexibility paying off. If Dick gets a peak of his stomach, thin and tense and smooth — no hair in sight — then that's his business.
"Another?" Tim asks, blinking up at him, blue eyes wide and shiny.
"Sure," Dick says and promptly forgets all about how attractive Tim is. Or he tries to.

Din’s not an idiot and he isn’t blind. Omegas are rarely so lucky. Very few people advocate for their right to choose anything, least of all where they’ll end up, and who with.
He doesn’t delude himself into thinking that Luke is here of his own free will.
