"Sorry, Timmy. Some other day, really! We'll go camping," Jack said, voice tinny from the poor cell service.
Tim's voice came out softer than he wanted, more vulnerable. "Sure, Dad. Some other day,"
He rolled onto his side and placed the phone on the table. He turned again to lay on his back, glassy eyes staring at the ceiling lights in his room.
"I'm telling you, Tim, you'll find a gorgeous woman like her someday. Promise me you won't let her go." Jack said.
The words 'not like I did' didn't need to be said. Tim knew what his father was getting at.
"You look a lot like her, you know. At the first ultrasound, the doctors thought you were a girl. We were going to name you Timothea, but you were a boy. So Timothy was just fine of a name," Jack said.
Basically Batman V1#480 but with more detail. I like the idea of Tim writing Jack a letter, because Jack was never around enough to hear him actually speak his mind. I live for their complicated relationship.
