With no experience and no training, the newly appointed Optimus Prime, formerly known as Orion Pax, is thrust into the role of Cybertron's leader, having only the Archives and a limited connection with Primus to steer him in the right direction. Megatron, formerly D-16, feels that after all he’s done, he cannot afford to make a single mistake. Visions of his gruesome past actions come to haunt him in his stasis as he continues to push his emotions aside. The Cybertronian defectors that escaped punishment are unaccounted for, and the Quintessons grow restless with each passing cycle.
Now, more than ever, the Prime and his council must work together to ensure the safety of all Cybertronian life. And more than ever, Optimus and Megatron’s friendship and love for each other had to endure.
