The alarm stopped, confusion, shouts, and then through the speaker, a voice; loud and grading, full of glory and delusion it rippled through the walls.
“The empire is gone! You are free! All sentences have been revoked!”
Words to be repeated by everyone, everyone in their stupid little cells calling out in joy and running towards the opening doors. Everyone except her. The thing she thought had died with the last lights out was screaming in her chest, burning and acidic, enflaming the cotton in her skull and leaving nothing but burn marks in its wake; a blistering wailing monster.

With the Empire gone, their prisons are emptied by rebels helping the New Republic. Dedra Meero is set free by the man she'd believed dead, only to learn that he is now one of the rebels who'd destroyed everything she ever stood for. Syril Karn, with the weight of his past still heavy on his shoulders, has hope; even with Dedra defienat as ever. The empire was defeated through love, after all. What harm was there in following the example of the Jedi who had saved them and belive in everyone's capacity for good? There was nobody else who'd do that for her.

You know Dedra Meero is no one to mess with. She is fierce. She knows what she wants. Although she often remains isolated from the rest of the ISB colleagues, she knows her skills, her place and her duty. Her ambition is one of a kind and getting through to her is like trying to break a glass wall with bare hands. Still, something about her is mesmerizing. Captivating. The way she leads meetings, she presents results or engages in conversations is always competent, professional and authoritative. And… cold?
Did she ever show a glimpse of emotion? Has she ever revealed any private detail about herself? Has she ever been seen outside of the ISB building? Does anyone know her better? A curiosity about her settles in you when you notice unusual behaviour in her and you do not plan to let it go. Letting go has never been a strength. Curiosity is dangerous. But when you start caring about others and mingle with other’s business, this can get life-threatening.
