His hair fell in his face as he took in his new appearance, and the sight of it made him pause. It was short.
Sephiroth’s hair hadn’t been short in years.
He quickly glanced around the room until he spotted a metal tray full of surgical tools on the counter. He picked up the tray and dumped its contents, before holding it up to examine his reflection.
Staring back at him were his own mako green eyes with their familiar slitted pupils, but they were framed by the youthful face of a teenager. Specifically, his teenage self, the one that he remembered from the time of his first field deployments as SOLDIER.

The two paused in their preparations. Mydei blinked up at Phainon’s sudden changed appearance, taking in the bright gold eyes and divine power bursting underneath his skin. That was fairly normal at this point, however …
“Phainon,” Mydei said slowly, turning to stare up at the blood red sky, and feeling the sensation of cosmic smoke curdling in his lungs. “What are we doing in hell?”
Or, in a post Era Nova world, Mydei and Phainon attempt to do the deed as they settle into their happily ever after. Multiple times, in fact. If only Phainon could stop departing them to his pocket dimension of a realm whenever they tried.
