Summary
The first time Zanka had ever been touched without it aching in some way was by a new supporter who’d placed his gloved hand on the small of his back to help steady him while walking across uneven terrain. At the time he hadn't even noticed, the lack of consequence from the firm press slipped by as they completed their mission. It was when he was alone that night stripping off his uniform that he noticed the scuff of dirt, the memory of the supporter’s gentle guidance slammed to the forefront.
Follo Tunito had managed to touch him without any misery.

Summary
His first summer at the Cleaners Headquarters had been a rude awakening. The smog that encapsulated the desert trapped dry heat that left his sheets drenched in sweat every morning. He was permanently flushed, the highs of his cheeks and tips of his ears an ever present pink. The absolute worst symptom of the summer was the nosebleeds.

Summary
Anyone who called Zanka a gentleman wasn't worth their weight in salt, the thought of Follo looking up at someone else like that made Zanka sick to his stomach. He’d always been a selfish creature, that was a view just for him, one he was loathe to ever give to anyone else. His body burned with how Follo had to look up slightly to meet his eye, how broad Follo had become, how he filled out his supporters uniform with lean muscle. Even then he kept his urges at bay, kept careful hold over his self control anytime they verged a little too close to the line.

Safe to say Katsuki had nothing but bad things to say about Rody Soul, and yet he found the man in his bed at least once a fortnight for the last year.

He had every intention to pick up the items on Semiu’s list, a few personal snacks, ingredients and spices he couldn't find anywhere else, and leave but now he had no choice but to stay. A trash storm had made its way to the Kamutari District.

Summary
Zanka had always had a particularly sensitive sense of smell, even as a child. It was something he was forced to hide as a Nijiku son, as this sensitivity didn't always work in his favour. Strong, heavy smells would linger in his head, making him dizzy and nauseous, until all he could think of was getting away from them, overstimulated and shaking. His family had seen it as a point of weakness, though it often felt to him that every part of himself was a potential weakness growing up.

"Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus." He added, when silence lingered too long. His gaze, locked onto the doctor's crystalline eyes, never wavered again. From his hospital bed, he could still taste the sterile stiffness of the sheets — yet not once did he complain. Not even in a whisper.
Satoru shrugged. "I'm afraid I'm not too close to that line of thought."
"Say, doc," he interrupted softly, almost immediately. "Have you ever thought about death?"

“kazuya,” youichi spoke as soon as kazuya answered the call. kazuya’s eyebrows furrowed. youichi’s voice sounded strange.
“hmm? yeah?”
“something’s…happened,” said youichi, rather cryptically.
something akin to panic rose in kazuya’s chest. there were so many things it could be but, chief among them, seidou stood out in kazuya’s mind.
“what?” kazuya said. there was a slight tremor in his fingers. he could feel his heartbeat in his throat. “youichi. what is it?”
youichi let out a shaky, shuddery sigh.
“kazuya, chris-senpai…died last night.”
kazuya has spent a decade and a half running from chris and eijun and their stupidly perfect relationship. then chris dies. kazuya has to stop running.

Summary
Follo remembers when he had first seen Zanka in vivid clarity. It was a cold day in the north ward, toxic snow drifted lazily to the ground as it always did. The sight was a strange mix of toxicity and beauty in this awful world he lived in. The murmuring of the same people he always spoke to droned around him, except there was a spark of something different in the air that day. He had run there, afraid of who he might see, one of the faceless mob, leaning forward to get a single look, a single taste of those that were brave, those that were special. Afraid to see that he had remained here whilst his friend had succeeded him. He hadn't seen his friend though, instead his breath was caught. He understood the mob at once, this was the sight of someone special.
