Summary
“What do you know about Nick Nelson?”
Charlie freezes, certain that he’s hallucinating. “Er, sorry?”
“Nick Nelson.” Mr. Farouk turns the screen of his desktop so Charlie can catch a glimpse of the photo he’s pulled up.
Nick Nelson stares back at him, his beaming face red and sweaty and covered in streaks of mud. He is also, most notably, hoisting up last year’s rugby league Challenge Cup trophy in his arms, balanced precariously on his team’s shoulders after an astonishing win by the Leeds Rhinos he’d undoubtedly contributed to.
Charlie begins to feel faint.
Or: In which Charlie and Nick become nothing more than acquaintances back in Truham, instead crossing paths again in their adulthood as a budding journalist tasked with writing a feature on a rising rugby star.

Summary
But then, the singer walked over to the left side of the stage, allowing Nick to finally get a look at the drummer, and suddenly, Nick could not remember what he had been so annoyed about to begin with.
The drummer was fully immersed in the song, hands moving fast as he played along, eyes fixated on his movements. His dark, curly hair flopped about as he moved, making him look impossibly cool. And he was smiling. He was smiling so wide and free and he had the most incredible dimples that Nick couldn’t look away from.
Or, Nick ends up on a blind date at the same pub Charlie's band is playing.

Summary
“Yeah. Sure, okay. I’ll do it,” Nick mumbles. “Two weeks? That won’t be so bad.”
God, what has he gotten himself into? Confident, social Nick is long gone, swept away with dirty diapers, sleepless nights, scraped knees, and, oh yeah, an absentee partner. Fuck, when was the last time he spoke to Megan? Alex was two, so . . . four years ago? Not that he would change any of this. Of course not. Alex is the best thing that ever happened to him. Peaking in college isn’t so bad, right? It’s him and Alex against the world now. And Charlie’s about to be a part of their world, at least for two weeks.
🍂 🍂 🍂
Nick is a 30-year-old single dad and teacher living in Ohio. Charlie is a 29-year-old university professor and author living in London. When Charlie takes a temporary teaching position with Ohio State, Tara convinces Nick to let Charlie stay with him and his son. It's only for a couple weeks, until Charlie finds a more suitable arrangement. But what if this arrangement works out better than either of them expected?
