“So, are you going to ask my mama on a date?” Rio dropped the pot with flowers onto the soft soil beneath, a soft thud sounded as the terracotta made contact with the earth.
“What?” She looked over at the child sitting on his knees beside her, the green dungarees and bug themed gloves matching her own.
Nicky looked up from where he was carefully placing seeds in the ground. Had his question not thrown her off to such an extent, she would have complimented him on the spacing between said seeds.
“Well, are you? I mean I know you like me and I like you too Ri, but you like mama too. So are you gonna ask her?” Her mouth was suddenly dry and her heart kept pounding in her chest.
She looked away from the 7 year old and let her gaze fall to the deck where a certain brunette was currently sunbathing. She swallowed heavily as she let her gaze fall back onto Nicky again.
Had she been that obvious the whole time?
Did Agatha know?
Oh dear god, did she? Had she just been humouring her along all these weeks?
Or Rio is crushing bad at her hot neighbour Agatha and Nicky just wants them to kiss...

“People don’t want structure, they want to be interested enough that they stop watching someone play subway surfers in the background.”

“My stuff is betterrrrrrr.” She sing-songed, twisting her chair back and forth.
“Doing that is gonna fuck up the audio.”
Agatha halted, getting dangerously close to the mic and batting her eyelashes. “Please forgive me gentle listener, Rio is a hardass who apparently doesn’t suffer from ADHD.”
“I will buy you a bucket of fidget spinners if you sit still.” Rio rubbed their temples.
“I’m not a middle school boy.” She put her elbows on the table, placing her chin in her hands. “And I can think of something better to keep my fingers occupied with,” She fucking winked again. “Thoughts?”
