A sharp knock rang out through the entryway. Vander swung the door open and froze.
Caitlyn had been wrong. There were three of them. Jinx, her long blue braids haphazardly slipping out from underneath a knit winter hat. Sevika next to her, her perpetual scowl frozen onto her face, glaring like she was ready for a fight. And inexplicably, cradled in Jinx’s arms, a little girl with her face pressed into Jinx’s coat.
Jinx gave them a nervous smile. “Merry Christmas?”
(Or: Vi brings Caitlyn home to meet her family for Christmas, but some unexpected guests decide to show up, too. Vi hasn't seen Jinx in months, but this may be the best chance they'll get to finally repair the cracks in their relationship––or break it apart for good.)
