Summary
Jude is the captain of the lacrosse team and Cardan is the very vain, very bitchy head cheerleader. They pretend to date.
Cardan strides single-mindedly across the field where the lacrosse team is playing a warm-up game before practice. He barely registers the ripple of awareness passing through the bystanders as the rest of the team stops to stare at him.
He’s in his uniform; cheerleading tryouts for the year are beginning today. He hopes Jude hasn’t changed her mind.
“Hey, Duarte!”
The slender figure pushing the goal-post into place pauses, walks up to him. Her expression is almost languid, but her shoulders hold tension. She peers up at him, curious.
He makes himself unclench his hands.
“Let’s do this.”
Her face breaks into a grin, delightfully wicked.

As I look at them again, they have darkened. “Not quite,”, he breathes.
My breathing turns shallow and I know I have signed my fate as I say my next words. “Show me.”

Written for Jurdannet Roulette: For Jurdannet's collab writing revel our group used the prompts Soulmates, "I know you", and our own take on empath to come up with our own franken-prompt. It's a soulmate AU where whatever character A writes on their skin will appear on character B's skin and vice versa.
After years of living in Elfhame, Jude begins journaling her experiences on her arms only to watch the ink disappear. Little does she know, the ink is reappearing on the skin of her soulmate, who also happens to be her worst enemy.
