It was without warning when Jack nosed his way back into Ralph's life. Maybe Ralph was just bored, or maybe he was lonely... perhaps he just craved the change. Regardless, he let's Jack back in- and finds that he doesn't regret it.

Jack's a character straight out of a Mark Twain book and this doesn't bother Ralph as much as he thought it would.

And it is times like these which make me want to slam my head against a hard surface. Tyler Durden enjoys playing with people. He likes the thrill of always having a certain power of a person whether that is physically, emotionally, or intellectually. He especially enjoys saying things to me that will leave me feeling lost and unsure of his opinion on me. It is times like these where I kick myself in the heel because I know that despite how stupid and small he makes me feel, I will always come back for more. Before Tyler Durden, I couldn’t sleep. When someone has insomnia, chronic insomnia, they would give anything just for an hour’s worth of rest. Tyler knows this. He knows his importance to my situation. But Tyler Durden is cruel, and he will exploit this knowledge for all its worth.

"This means I'll eat your heart, you know. When you die."
Wilbur closes his mouth with a snap, teeth clicking together and eyes widening.
He hadn't thought of something like that, of a history that cannot discredit his words, for ages now. But the act seems right, fitting. Why shouldn't he eat Wilbur's heart? After all that's happened, why not rip it out of his chest now, hot and still beating?
"You'll eat my heart?"
He slides his hand back up over his shoulders, stands on his toes and grips the back of the other man's neck, forcing him to bend forward, "I'll devour your heart, Wilbur; every last bit. It's more than you deserve."
Two men at the end of the world. They know each other well. Themselves even less.

The life Ray lived in the demon world can be broken up into moments. Some of them were calm, most of them were fighting, and all of them are something he’ll never experience again. Now everything is over and it’s time for Ray to have a normal life with normal moments. That’s a little hard when the only normal thing about him seems to be the unrequited feelings he’s carried for his best friend since they were children.
The life Norman lived can be broken into before and after. He’s just not sure where one ends and the other starts. He’s also not sure how he supposed to deal with the way looking at Ray makes him feel now that he has the time to actually feel.
In which Ray and Norman learn to grow, cope, and love in the human world.
