Summary

When Vincent’s parents discover that their son has begun displaying troubling tendencies and socially unacceptable behavior at university, they decide to send him back to psychiatric treatment after a long hiatus. He is still young, and they believe there may be time to fix what seems broken. Yet every psychiatrist who had treated Vincent before refused to see him again after a single session, forcing his parents to seek new, and increasingly desperate, options.
Alastor is a highly acclaimed psychiatrist and therapist, renowned for the unsettling speed with which his patients appear to rehabilitate. His methods are considered unusual, but undeniably effective, or so it seems to those familiar with his work. When Vincent’s parents approach him with an urgent request to treat their son, Alastor assumes the case will be simple. However, once Vincent arrives and Alastor reviews the reports from his former psychiatrists, the true nature of the challenge becomes clear. There is a reason none of them lasted. To succeed where others failed, Alastor realizes he will have to change his strategy entirely.
