Rhaenyra contemplates her past relationships, and lands on one in particular. When a letter from Dragonstone is delivered, Alicent is dragged into her memories of their past.
Rhaenyra closed her eyes.
She had not thought about her youth with Alicent in a long time. The memories felt off limits; forbidden, in case she taint them with her broken heart; in case she went to remember the Alicent she loved and all she could picture was the crazed Alicent who had cut her with a knife instead.
