Phainon scoffed, flipping the heavy crimson cover open as he felt his cheeks heat up. The pages of the dictionary were short but densely packed, columns of tight script meticulously annotated with what looked to be Mydei’s own handwriting.
“This?” he questioned. “I could finish this in a second.”
Mydei tilted his head. “You do tend to finish quickly, haikas.”
(mydei brings phainon a kremnoan dictionary during his recovery.)

Cipher watches him for a long moment. The alleyway is very quiet, an owl hooting somewhere overhead. “You want me,” she repeats slowly, “to become the man you love… so you can confess to me.”
(cipher does not, in fact, transform into mydei. she just goes and gets the real one.)

He can’t make out what emotions are in Hitoshi’s voice. A very distant part of him realizes that this whole situation is bad, and he should remember where he is, why he’s here. But whenever he tries, pain shoots through his skull.
“No.” He admits. He thinks maybe he closed his eyes. It’s so dark, he isn’t sure he ever opened them in the first place.
“Um. We – we were walking to a café.” Hitoshi tells him. “After training, remember? You wanted me to practice using my capture scarf to move faster. We spent a few hours at UA in ground Gamma. You thought I did well, so we were goin to the cat café that I really like, and… there was a villain attack.”

“No, I don't mind,” Shouta says, and when he makes eye contact Hizashi can't breathe for a moment. “I trust you.”
It's impossible not to notice at this distance that Shouta is blushing. Impossible to mistake it for anything else or explain it away. Hizashi knows he is too.

“It is,” Hizashi confirms. He remembers. Frank Sinatra, 'The Way You Look Tonight'. Ironically, Shouta had looked terrible that night, completely bandaged and recently beaten to within an inch of his life. But maybe that was the point.

Shouta didn’t know whether it was the drinking, the lingering guilt, or the way Yamada’s mouth was slightly pulled down at the corners, but he suddenly felt convinced that he was going to be the one to solve his problems.
"Mic," he said abruptly. "What are you doing on Sunday?"
"Huh?" Yamada stumbled a little as he jerked in surprise at this sudden shattering of the silence. "I've got a guest appearance on an early morning radio show, but nothing after that. Why?"
Shouta sighed, already regretting his next words. "Keep the day free. I'm going to take you somewhere."
When Yamada turns up to work one morning looking uncharacteristically miserable, Shouta decides to take matters into his own hands and figure out a way to cheer him up. In a bid to be a better friend, he arranges for them to spend more time together - and while Shouta is busy worrying about Yamada's emotions, his own feelings begin to change, too.
