Summary
"You a demon?"
The man tilts his head up, and Nero realizes he'd been staring at his arm this entire time, only bothering to assess the rest of him up close. There's a sickeningly long pause, the world tilting on its axis.
Then the man's eyes roll back and he drops to the floor with a quiet thud.
(An AU in which Vergil never manages to take Nero's arm, instead splitting into V and Urizen right there in the garage. Nero suddenly finds himself taking care of a wounded demon and a very sickly man, while trying to piece together the mystery of who these two really are.)

Summary
It comes full circle, doesn't it? What was once discarded is returned. Yet does that make us not all the more lonely? Maybe just a little bit.
But you are still here, in the rhythm between the steady beats of warmth that drums beneath my ribs.
To feel whole again is more welcome then the cold absence would ever be.

Summary
V hates this song. But he had once held a certain fondness for it until Dante played it one too many times on repeat, wrestling with Vergil on the couch for music privileges until their mother steered them outside to duke it out with sticks. By the time they returned home, they’d be too dirty and tired to fight over the record player anymore, just hungry for mother’s lovingly-cooked food and a nice warm bath to splash water into each others’ faces.
Behind him, Dante is a tightly coiled mass of heat and barely held together restraint.
After all is said and done, V decides to open up a box of memories that perhaps, in hindsight, would have been better left closed.

Summary
The man steps closer, right up to the edge of the circle, with more poise than his appearance would suggest. He's not just slender - he's downright skeletal, and there's something beneath that demonic scent that makes the demon's nose twitch. Sickly sweet and cloying. Weakness. Death.
"Rise, demon. There's something I wish to negotiate with you."
(A few years after the events of DMC3, a half-transformed Nelo Angelo is summoned from Hell by a dying sorcerer who seeks to extend his lifespan. What follows is a struggle for survival, a contract forged out of desperation, and a journey of mutual understanding.)
