Maekar blinked, confusion knitting his brow. "What?"
Baelor let out a shaky breath, his pupils blowing wide. "The sheer power of it. The pain. Knowing it was you who possessed the strength to break me."
He leaned in further, his voice a ghost against the heavy wool of Maekar’s tunic. "I liked it. I liked the pain of it. It felt… right. To be at your mercy."
Maekar stood frozen, the bandage dangling from his hand, his mind struggling to process the words.
"What?" Maekar asked, his voice flat with disbelief.

Summary
Emet-Selch has spent eons avoiding and indulging in Azem's shards. Some are much like him, tearing open Emet's gaping wound once more with their unconscious similarities. Others, if it was not for the glowing ocher of their soul, he would eschew the implication that they could ever be one in the same. Then there are times, separate from the shards themselves, when Emet does not care one way or another. He simply aches.
Beckett nods into the crook of the stranger’s neck; it is incomprehensible, the ache that boils in his chest like an apocalyptic sea. Needy, he angles his hips up to feel the press of Emet’s length against his sensitive bundle of nerves. His muscles curl with mouthwatering sweetness and he moans with shameless abandon as he professes –

The Circles are no more.
Anders thinks that he would have felt overjoyed about that, once upon a time. Perhaps it would have been like his heart soaring when he had made his first escape from Kinloch Hold. Or maybe it would have felt like the first time Karl had kissed him, chest restricting, breaths coming in short spasms. Maybe it would have even felt like the first time Hawke had held his hand, and many more times after that, that unmistakeable pumping of blood from his heart to his head to his feet, warming him both inside and outside.
He doesn’t know for sure.
