They continue their walk through the garden, Lucifer “oo”-ing and “ah”-ing at the different Devildom flora. They come across one of Satan’s stray cats that Lucifer pretends not to know about and he laughs, bright and tinkling. It sounds like wind chimes. Mammon watches his face split open into a smile so bright it hurts to look at before fading into something softer but no less radiant. He doesn’t think he’s seen him this full of joy or wonder ever. He wonders when the last time Lucifer was unburdened was. -

Having six younger brothers can be difficult. Having six younger brothers who constantly get into nonsense? Well, that's a non-starter.
It’s a little known fact that Lucifer is everyone’s emergency contact. When it comes to those he cares about, he is protective, almost annoyingly so. So, it makes sense that the person who knows everything about everyone should be in charge if something goes awry. His phone hardly ever rings for emergencies, half because his brothers’ manage to get themselves out of trouble through a series of convoluted and confusing hijinks and half because most of them would rather eat nails than call him to tell him something is wrong. He’s even Barbatos’ emergency contact, despite the fact that Barbatos has never been sick or injured. -

Summary
Now that he had the eyes to look, there were signs of Thomas and Martha everywhere. Signs of him too, books he’d left lying around, a shoe he’d thought he’d lost, a batarang he brought into the Manor and accidentally dropped under a couch.
He thinks, absently, that it’s a weird way for Bruce to grieve. Nobody’s going to come and finish these projects or put these things away. Then he remembers how he didn’t touch his mom’s unfinished cross-stitch even after it fell off of the arm of the couch onto the floor and resolves himself not to judge.
It isn’t until Bruce dies that he realizes that it isn’t Bruce leaving the memorials lying around, it’s Alfred. -
