It's not as though Soonyoung hates Wonwoo.
Back when they were young, he, Wonwoo, and Jihoon had been together every single day. Jihoon as the future emperor, Wonwoo as the future emperor's retainer, and Soonyoung as the future emperor's right hand man. It's hard to hate someone you've spent your entire childhood with.
And to be completely honest, Soonyoung used to have the tiniest crush on Wonwoo. Like a really little one. And maybe he still has it, but it's not his fault! Wonwoo was just so tall, and cool, and had such a nice deep voice. And he’d only grown hotter over the years, while Soonyoung was still stuck with baby fat on his cheeks. Figures.
Alternatively: soonyoung is convinced wonwoo hates him. He has no idea just how wrong he is.
