“No, it’s okay, you sit,” Hao shook his head, although Ricky could tell he was secretly pleased.
“Seriously, take it,” Hanbin giggled, gently patting Hao’s hand as a reassurance.
Hao opened his mouth to protest. Ricky had had enough.

Slowly, Ricky reaches up to her hat and gently grips the brim of it, tilting it down and forward with a nod of her head. They lock eyes—and Ricky can see the nervous shaking of the other woman’s pupils. Maybe she doesn’t have as much experience with any of this, either. She can’t be that much younger than Ricky, if only by a year or two.
The woman slowly looks around herself, over her shoulders and back again, before she’s cocking her head to the side and pointing up to herself, finger angled towards her chin.
OR, Ricky meets a city girl at the bar and takes her home.
