Summary
When is the right time to tell someone you love them?
Bruce and Clark aren't together, but they could be. Bruce has thought about it. Clark has thought about it. But just as Clark decides to finally take the leap, he falls ill. It doesn't take long for Bruce to figure that out, except that Clark's not just sick.
Clark is dying. And in a bid to save his life, Bruce has to race against time in search of a cure.
Written for the Superbat Big Bang 2025.
—
Bruce's heart leaps into his throat when Clark raises his head and looks up at Bruce with wide, horrified eyes. Clark’s hand covers his mouth, but there’s—blood, hot and bright red, streaming through the cracks of his fingers. Another round of violent coughing wracks his chest and Bruce jerks into motion and lunges forwards to catch him around the shoulders before he hits the dirt.
After a moment, Clark’s hands—they’re shaking, Bruce notices—drop from his mouth and Clark stares down at them in bewildered horror.
“Bruce,” he whispers, with blood painting his lips red and dripping down his chin.

Summary
“I hope you know,” Damian snarled. “That I will make your death slow and painful and I will be certain to make every agonising moment last an eternity.”
“And I hope you know,” Grayson said. “That I’m glad you’re feeling a little better.”
Except to acknowledge as much would mean to accept that the stupid medicine had done something other than force him to shake for hours on end, so no, Damian was not feeling better in the slightest.
In fact, if anything he was feeling worse than before because at least while being unable to breathe, he would have been fully capable of taking out a target with zero issue. If he had attempted a mission now, they would have been alerted to his presence a mile off simply due to the incessant shaking in what must be his every muscle, even his heart aching in his misery.
“But,” Grayson said. “It’s time for another breathing treatment.”
This time, Damian really did throw the blade, though Grayson easily tilted to the left without a single change in his ridiculous smile as the weapon whizzed passed him.

Summary
Kon took a step back, prepared to make his grand escape, when he backed up right into a solid figure behind him. He turned quickly, shrinking down with an audible intake of breath, standing below the towering figure of none other than Superman himself. He wore a peculiar look on his face, eyebrows slightly furrowed, lip pulled back into what could have been mistaken as a smile, but only seemed full of forced politeness.
And then Kon heard the strange rumbling sound coming right from the center of Superman’s throat. Kon shrunk back, but this time, put himself right behind Superman and out of sight of the press.
