It took a great effort from Ilya not to jump on the other man right there."

But to Ivan, it’s not so much a home but rather just another means of survival, despite how good it seems with an older and much more affectionate Till acting otherwise.
Because while Till had a whole 7 years to come to terms with his trauma, Ivan is still 22 years old, lost and scared as he always was.

Summary
Jean has adapted to his new life of after the war and final peace for that they all so long wished for. And yet so many wounds still need to heal and so many scars will linger for forever. Jean believes they all can do it. They all deserve it after all the shit the world and they have been through.
Reiner feels lost and is just slowly coming to a place where he accepts for himself happiness, comfort and belonging. His past still haunts him, will also forever follow him around. He didn’t wanted to live and yet he’s still here, thinking he doesn’t deserve that.
After a very long time of so much pain, hate and grief, Reiner and Jean seem to find a new home in one another, seem to find love that they’ve been feeling for so long time for another all along.
