Summary
Arthur is five years old when his father decides he’s old enough to bear witness to his first execution. He sees two people he cares about burn, and it’s his fault that they are dying. He vows to never use his magic again, because he has seen first hand the damage it can do. So he locks it away, deep inside himself, and tries not to think about the incessant humming in his veins.
