This is a scene I had originally written for my fanfiction “Flames”, but it ended up in the trash — becoming, in fact, a deleted scene. It was too beautiful to simply let it disappear, and even though it didn’t make it into the final story, I couldn’t bear the thought of not sharing it with all of you.

What if Chimney didn't just punch Buck? What if he was so blinded by his own rage and desperate need to find Maddie that he injures Buck far deeper than a single punch? When Eddie finds his best friend unconscious and barely breathing on his own kitchen floor, it starts a tidal wave that no one saw coming.
