The worst of it was that Lewis knew sex was a great distraction, the problem was that he and Miles had fallen into what he called the ‘boyfriend-zone’ which meant they had settled into a comfortable routine, which he appreciated, and didn’t want to disrupt with requests for the kind of sex that could really shut his mind off. Those would invariably come with conversations, and discussions of boundaries, and limits, and the kind of stuff in general that took all the fun out of it. Which would leave Lewis right back where he started: bored.
No what he needed was a real bastard, a genuine first rate tosser, a piece of shit of the highest caliber. Naturally, he thought of Max.

The rest of the day he lets the sun burn his shoulders, salt rinsing the noise out of his ears. He dives overboard, lets the Med close over his head until all the questions and rumours dull to a single low frequency. Underwater everything goes quiet, for once.
When he climbs back up, dripping on the deck, cats’ faces flash in his mind—Sassy in the kitchen window at home, Jimmy stretched out in a patch of sunlight. He closes his eyes against the glare.
His mind finds its familiar groove, the one it’s worn deep over weeks of thinking: armour, zipped tight, oil slicked across seams, a man who never poses, never apologizes for taking up space in his own skin.
Max sits there, hair drying stiff with salt, and wonders what it would feel like to carry that kind of stillness on purpose.
OR Monaco leaves Max with an image he can’t shake. Ferrari leaves Lewis with a season he can’t salvage. Max decides those things can’t be unrelated.

In the aftermath of the rout at Ealdor, a mercenary leader tries to hold his small band of survivors together and extricate them from the mess he got them into. He thinks he’s come up with a simple plan to save them all, but things soon stop going according to the script. And then they meet with a group of knights, led by a knight who calls himself Sir Andrew of Dollop Head.
Arthur decides, for who-knows what reason, that he wants to spend his honeymoon chasing a gryphon all over Camelot. Merlin, as ever, is tagging along behind Arthur, but his usual plan of pretending to be a simple servant isn't working. Arthur has been behaving strangely ever since their return from Ealdor, and Merlin is worried. On the road, they meet with a small band of riders who insist that they are also Knights of Camelot, and Arthur comes up with a strange new plan all of his own...

Summary
Arthur’s been sent to negotiate a trade treaty with Ergyng, a kingdom where magic is perfectly legal. He’s been on diplomatic missions before, but never one that made him feel like he’d made a wrong turn and left reality behind. With Uther desperate enough to even consider such a treaty, much less send his son into a kingdom where sorcery is openly practiced, their Queen could ask for anything vaguely reasonable and Arthur would have to grant it. So why is she only interested in Merlin?

"Once this over, sorcerer...I’ll burn you."
"You’ve already tried that," Merlin’s voice answered and Arthur had to bite his fist to keep from making any noise. “You need to accept you can’t kill me… Hand me that blanket, please.”
“I’m sure there must be some method… Beheading?”
“No, we tried that.”
“Hanging?”
“I just sort of... Swung there, remember?”
There was another pause.
“I should have made you keep that dragon below the castle so I could feed you to it.”
“Kilgharrah? He won’t eat me, but if you want to torture me than making me listen to his nonsense for an hour might do it.” Merlin said and there was a soft sigh from the other end of the room. “I’m glad you agreed to help me though. Usually I have to do the grunt work of saving Arthur myself.”
“I can’t wait to kill you.”
Or
Uther finds out about Merlin’s magic, but can’t seem to kill him. Merlin is just trying to protect Arthur. They become a begrudgingly effective duo. Arthur doesn't understand why they think he isn't noticing this.
