Summary
Miguel hasn’t slept for more than three hours a night in the past week. He won’t find peace with rest, so he doesn’t try. All he sees is her face when he closes his eyes, her bright eyes wide with fear as she disappeared in his arms. So he works. It’s a good distraction at first, something to occupy his mind from all the things he doesn’t want to think about.
But that can’t last forever.
(Or, Peter worries. Miguel gets something like a family out of it.)
