Summary
“That’s okay.” Akira rubs his chin in mock thought. “Why would you spill your guts to me? We just met. You don’t even know my name.” Akechi’s eye twitches. His mouth opens in protest, but Akira beats him to the next punch. “I’m Akira Kurusu.” He sticks his hand out across the bar.
Goro stares at the hand, shocked into silence.
For a moment, they don’t breathe. The air crackles, and the TV hums in the background, and somewhere, a pedestrian shouts, and somewhere else, someone honks their car horn, the world continuing on and on in an endless waterfall of mundanities—but the air in Leblanc crackles.
Finally, Goro reaches forward. His gloved hand slots against Akira’s own, leather cold and damp.
“My name is Goro Akechi. It’s nice to meet you, Akira Kurusu.”
(Or: “Wait a second. You’ve just been, what, LARPing as strangers?” Futaba stares at him. “With Goro-goddamn-Akechi?”)

Summary
“I wouldn’t do that,” Akira promises. “If I did, I’d be a hypocrite. I’ve never… I mean. You’re not alone, you know. I’ve never kissed anyone before, either.”
Akechi gapes at him—his mouth drops open, his brows knit all the way together.
“You haven’t?”
“We’re teenagers. That’s normal.” Akira frowns, trying not to think about this handsome, worldly guy that Akechi wants to be with. It’s fine, he thinks, it was just a half-formed crush. More of an idea, really. “I get it, though. I wish there was a way to practice.”
The hallway feels smaller and smaller as each word leaves his mouth. A way to practice. They look at each other for a long moment, communicating through their heavy gaze. The temperature rises, and Akira knows that they’re both having the same thought.
(Or: The boys strike a deal. Also, Akechi's 'handsome, worldly crush' may not be as far away as Akira thinks he is.)

“Ooh, it’s to your boyfriend right?” Ryuji says, laughing.
“Akira has a boyfriend?” Yusuke asks.
“Yep,” he replies, putting his sunglasses back down on his face and leaning back on the deckchair.
“He told me he’s dating Akechi. You had to be there, man,” Ryuji says, clapping Yusuke on the back who looks perplexed.
“I am dating him,” Akira adds, just because perhaps if he says it loudly and often enough maybe someone will start to take it seriously.

Summary
Akechi’s not one to deny the reality of his senses. And those senses have shown him many strange things of late. Human cats, for example, or dead men walking. But he’s still never imagined repeating a day. He retraces his steps from yesterday; the same drinks are sold out of the vending machines he passes. At 10:45 AM exact, as he’d recalled, the groupchat lights up:
Haru: Is today the day we should expect to hear from Dr. Maruki?
Makoto: That’s right.
Makoto: Have you heard from him already, Ren?
