Tony Stark was a dragon. That’s it, nothing more to it. At least in his eyes. He didn’t need a Bonded, he once had one, but it ended in a disappointment, and he never wanted to do it again. He never wanted to bond, let someone take the place on his shoulders again.
But who says that old bonds don't last? He certainly didn't know that.
