Summary
Dante choked, a little. “Holy shit,” he said out loud, and hugged Vergil back, a little awkwardly. “You really missed me, huh?”
“You’re my twin brother,” said Vergil, softly. “Is it really so strange I’d hug you?”
Was it? Vergil wasn’t a huggy guy. He tended to avoid being touched, which was fine, Dante knew how to respect people’s boundaries, but—was it really so strange that his own twin could stand to hold him? Why was he so surprised? Vergil had done this before. Right?
(no no something’s not right here something isn’t right wake up Dante wake up)
“Guess not,” Dante said, warmly, patting his twin brother on the back of the head.

Summary
Jolting awake, Vergil's hand fumbled for the hilt of the Yamato, his fingers gripping her so tightly he was sure he would break his own fingers in the process. Before he could unsheathe the sword, he realized quickly what had happened. The hard jab of a wooden bed-frame against the space between his shoulders grounded him as he realized he was still in his room in Dante's shop, his wide eyes peering through the darkness to see his son knelt in front of him. Chest heaving with a lack of oxygen, Vergil tried to soothe himself, swallowing hard against the dryness of his throat as Nero watched him with concerned eyes and his lips set into a thin line.

Summary
It's been months since Dante lost a brother and found a nephew. Still dealing with the aftermath of the Temen-ni-gru and struggling to raise a rambunctious Nero on his own, he's fighting just to keep his head above water. When a demon hunt goes awry and accidentally exposes his supernatural nature to a long-time client, Dante expects only the worst. Instead, he's offered a helping hand up-- the first of many, and Dante finds out he might not have to be as alone as he always believed. Maybe... Maybe, just for once, karma might be willing to give him a break. After all, one good turn deserves another...
