Elphaba, like a scared kitten, gets on Galinda's bed and sits beside her where she rests her back on the headboard. She watches as Elphaba tests the mattress—
"Very comfortable."
Galinda hums, a little amused but also saddened that this might be the first time in a long time that Elphaba has a bed.
"Do you want to... sleep?" A beat. "Don't look at me like that, Elphie. It was just an offer."Elphaba smiles at her. But doesn't accept nor refuse it—Galinda's hope is already building inside of her in the form of a little spark in her chest, imagining her and Elphaba sharing a bed again and sleeping together; perhaps Galinda will finally feel safe to fully submerge to slumber with her there.

When Moiraine tells her what she discovered in the Rings of Rhuidean, Siuan Sanche realises two very important things.
One, Elaida will do anything to strip her of her position and kill Siuan in her attempt.
Two, Siuan cannot bare another second away from Moiraine's side.So, Siuan leaves behind the golden threads of her Amyrlin dress and rides towards the Aiel Waste. She rides home to Moiraine.
