Summary

There they are forced to detail the gruesome details behind their injuries and the child that inflicted them eliciting Riddle's curiousity. Demanding an investigation into the child Riddle soon finds out everything about him and he is enraptured. Seems like he'll have to escape sooner than planned, after all he can't let anyone but him have that child. Talents like those are wasted in suburbia.

Isabella Marie Swan, 28, had long since grown up. The Cullens left her high and dry, and while she could certainly see how hormones had made her a raving maniac for a melodramatic teenage boy, she did not foresee how much it would rankle to be shown a world where she'd have had all the time in the world—and then be cut off.
It started with the search for a connection to the ones that left—a medical career, maybe a way to get a glimpse of at least Carlisle Cullen—but she quickly noticed what had really fascinated her all these years: Death—in all of its beautiful, terrible glory.
Hence, she became a forensic pathologist.
OR
Bella Swan is smitten with Death, slightly cynical, and finds it a giggle-worthy idea to move to Florence to work as a pathologist in the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital, a little more than a stone's throw away from one Volterra Castle.
That was - before she'd had to do four consecutive night shifts because someone was an idiot and didn't clean up after themselves.
Hence, she sent the Volturi a brain, since they obviously needed one.
Aro thinks she's flirting.

He loosened his hold, backing away, and Bella let go of the breath she didn’t realize she had been holding. She reached for her cheek, feeling the ghost of his touch linger, again, she felt her face turn red. He stared at her expectantly, waiting for her reaction.
“Thank you?” Bella mumbled awkwardly. She fought the urge to facepalm, did she really just say thank you to the undead guy who she was sure was about to make her his afternoon snack?
Bella finds a three thousand year old vampire hibernating in a cave. She does the only thing she can do, help him find his way home.

An altered telling of Bella’s trip to Italy and her encounter with a morally gray vampire ruler. She can only tell herself pretty little lies so long before the Volturi start to chip away at her own rose-colored view of what she thinks she knows, what others led her to believe, and bring forth secrets that will alter her future forever.

Lips of a Liar by Amotto36. Great first few chapters and I love the conflict that Bella has in her bitterness towards Edward and acceptance of her bond to Aro. Alec is a gem in this fic and I love that we are getting a lot of his character. I am greatly looking forward to seeing how this fic shakes up.
