this is harder than he'd even anticipated. it's one thing to tell himself that the changes will be good- because he can always hold onto that little sliver of selfish hope; that the others will realize that life sucks when they're apart. but to see evidence to the contrary so blatantly in front of his face- they're not just doing good… they're thriving. it's so twisted. they're healing while he feels like he might be falling apart.
