She smiled softly, wrapped in a lavender cardigan, and reached for her mug of tea…just as a hand entered the frame. A large hand. Slightly calloused. Veins like highways. It set down a small plate of cookies beside her tea, lingered for half a second like it was making sure the plate was stable, then vanished offscreen again.
For 0.3 seconds, chat froze.

It is said in the days after Paul Atreides was stolen away from Caladan that Duke Leto Atreides and the Lady Jessica bewailed that the Emperor had ever requested those of the Landsraad, all of the Great Houses, Major and Minor, to attend him at Kaitain, for it was there that Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen first saw their son and connived to have him. The Harkonnen's plan bore fruit three years later, when, after celebrations for Paul Atreides's coming of age, the heir to the storied and honorable House was kidnapped and brought to Giedi Prime, whereupon the na-baron declared him his husband and mate.

Hayden feels like a complete asshole, all of a sudden. There’s just been too much going on to even think about Shane’s mystery girlfriend. “Shit, I should probably, like, call her, or something? I don’t know this girl at all, but Shane’s been obsessed with her for years. If she was watching the game, she would have seen him get hurt.”
“You don’t need to call her,” Rozanov says, and when Hayden glances at him, he still looks fucking miserable but now he’s rolling his eyes, a much more familiar expression of disdain on his face. “She’s sitting right here.”
