“My father has placed me with you to punish me. I’m sure after a few weeks he will come to his senses, but I won’t run and beg after a woman,” Jamie said, making sure to emphasise his disdain. The wench didn’t even react, which was perhaps even more insulting.
“Are you deaf or do you -”
“I am leaving in the afternoon, an hour after the midday meal. If you are determined not to be my squire, I am sure this is the last we will see of each other.” And then at catching sight of an approaching servant, nodded briefly in his direction. “Young lord,” she said.

“No it fucking ain’t you suicidal prick.” Chase snaps back at him. The older man is definitely angrier than he’d been a few hours ago, far more irritated compared to when he’d first shown up at Roberts crumbling apartment unannounced.
“Yes it fucking is!” He snaps right back. “I don’t need to be doing this.”
“Robert please, it’s not going to fucking kill you.” Chase amps up again, they’d been going back and forth for the last 2 and a half hours. Doing the same spiel for every piece of cloth Robert picked from the big, corporate bag of nesting shit sent to him by SDN.

Summary
Everyone and their mother knows that suppressants aren’t foolproof. They’re not a one size fits all like the pharmaceutical companies tout them to be. Some meds are better for omegas than others, but price and availability limits their usage. It’s a whole thing that Robert has learned to live with.
So, when one of the members of Z-Team is going into a rut because of a mysterious drug, the suppressants aren't as effective as they should be. Robert decides to hole up for a day in hopes he’s only going into pre-heat and not a full blown heat.
What he gets is help from an alpha that he never expected.
