Summary
“Bruce?” Tony finally managed at last, though it sounded like it took Herculean effort on his part to get his lungs to work and Bruce took a tentative few steps forward. “You came back.”
Bruce stopped again at that, though. He didn’t want to give Tony the wrong impression of what this was – though certainly Tony couldn’t have meant that he came back for him. They hadn’t seen each other for over fifteen years and the way Bruce left was not open to interpretation. Whatever Tony meant by that, it couldn’t have been what it sounded like.
“No,” he said, trying to utter the word with some kind of finality.
“No one told me... Your name isn’t on the guest registry,” Tony said as he looked down at the desk in front of him.
“It’s probably under my fiance’s name.”
To his credit, Tony tried to keep his face as neutral as possible even if he couldn’t hide it in his voice as he asked, “your fiance?”
“Yeah,” Bruce said, pretending his heart wasn’t beating faster with every step he took towards the check-in desk and Tony. “The reservation will be under Justin Hammer.”

“You have been so good,” he sighed and he sounded tired, his eyes searching Bruce’s a moment. “You are always so good. You know that, right?”
Bruce paused and didn’t answer as he stepped forward to undress Tony.
“Bruce,” he said, grasping his wrists and Bruce couldn’t bring himself to look at him. “You know that?”
“Tony,” he warned carefully and Tony dropped his wrists but he moved in close and grasped his head in both hands, pressing Bruce's face against the side of his and holding him close.
“Know that I know,” he murmured as Bruce’s fingers found their way to his waistband, slipping the button on them.
Each piece he removed, he removed gently and planted a kiss on Tony’s body. His neck, his chest, sliding to his knees and kissing his hips. It wasn’t always like this; despite wearing a collar Bruce was far from subservient. But this was different, this was special.

“When is Bruce coming back?” he asked instead, biting the words out, feeling Hulk go rigid behind him, irritated.
Tony knew Bruce hated it when he antagonized Hulk, worried that he was going to snap, was going to hurt him. ‘You don’t know what he’s like, he’s got a violent nature,’ Bruce would say but Bruce had a violent nature too and Hulk wouldn’t hurt him. Sometimes Tony thought Hulk actually liked Tony’s shitty attitude, liked that Tony wasn’t scared of him – but even if he was wrong about that, he wasn’t wrong about the way Hulk would hold him in the middle of the night, tender in his big arms, stroking his back with surprisingly deft fingers. ‘Hulk protect you,’ he’d whisper every time. ‘Nothing ever hurt Tony.’
“Banner,” Hulk muttered as his fingers curled into the bruises already there along Tony’s hips and he bit back a gasp. “Tony always want Banner.”
“You know for a fact that I do not always want Bruce,” Tony argued as his tablet pinged again and he glanced over to where it was sitting abandoned on a table.
Hulk huffed but when Tony’s eyes returned to the window, he could see Hulk grinning.

Tony’s stomach clenched and he felt his heart shudder against his chest at the sound of that soft, amused lilt – but he was careful not to turn and give himself away.
“It does have a certain kind of beauty, I suppose,” Bruce said as he stepped up to the railing to stand beside him. “You couldn’t have done anything to diminish the reflection?”
“You paid the ten thousand dollar cover charge to get in here?” Tony asked with derision, risking only a brief glance in the other man’s direction.
Bruce grunted a laugh in reply.
“I’m a government asset,” he said with no affection for the position, “I go where I please.”
“And this is where you want to be tonight?”
Tony looked at him askance this time, studying him from the corner of his eye even though he knew the answer.
“There are worse places.”

Summary
Tony stormed through the beautiful Four Seasons Montreal on a warpath, barely cognizant of all the fine features – marbled floors and expensive glass panels and gold gilding. Even if he hadn’t been seething, the fact that he wasn’t put up in such accommodations – and hadn’t been since he wore his own last name on his employee badge – wouldn’t have bothered him. Tony was too old to feel bitter, but he wasn’t too old to be petty about the fact that he was born and raised in luxury and categorically refused to bat an eye or allow himself to feel impressed when presented with it.
But now, livid as he was? It only added to his anger, that Banner would be rewarded like this. The kid was all of twenty-three and clearly possessed the maturity of a child half that age – handing him this kind of opulence and telling him he deserved it was only asking for trouble. Or at least an ego the size of most small continents – and it wasn’t like Tony didn’t know from personal experience.
(Or: The one where Bruce is a Formula 1 driver and Tony the team's lead engineer.)
