Summary
Toni Stark is unlike any of the women Elvis has known. She's insanely intelligent, witty, and doesn't stand for anyone's shit. He develops a crush on her from afar, giving longing glances every time he sees her exiting press conferences when he's on the way to his concerts. Toni never notices him, more focused on escaping flashing cameras. But, what happens when Toni is gone for three months and comes back a changed woman with a certain glowing contraption in her chest?
Or: Toni Starks stays at the International Hotel pouring her time into the party life and meaningless one-night-stands. Elvis has a fierce interest in her, but then she's captured in Afghanistan and eventually comes back to Vegas as a workaholic and the metal hero we all know and love.
Not placed in the MCU or its timeline, I'm just using versions of the characters and their backstories in this story. Also will not be historically accurate when it comes to American politics and wars of the time. Priscilla does not exist in this story. Also not betaed.

Summary
You’re brought to New York on contract. Temporary housing, temporary job, temporary proximity to the most infuriating CEO you’ve ever met.
The Blackwell Group is all glass, steel, and control, and its twenty-six-year-old head is everything you expected: sharp-tongued, arrogant, and impossible to read. He treats everyone equally badly, which somehow makes it worse. You’re sure he hates you. Targets you. Singles you out because you refuse to be intimidated.
What you don’t realize (what he never lets on) is that obsession looks a lot like hostility when it’s being tightly restrained.
A slow-burn, second-person story about power, professionalism, misread intentions, and the dangerous space between being watched and being wanted.

Your next best bet? Constantly messaging and donating to him. Every chance you got, you tried to talk to him like he was just a normal guy. You wanted him to see you, give you attention, everything unhealthy that the average obsessed girl feels. You knew the ultimate shot was to act like he wasn't special, but you were also aware he was too famous for it to work.Until it did.

The Avengers sitcom we all secretly want. Well, maybe the Avengers hour-long action dramadey we all secretly want.Multi story, multi couple series. Series order is suggested reading order (not necessarily chronological order). You'd don’t have to read them all to read one, but they do compliment (and spoil) each other. Heavy Boots of Lead contains a series summary at the beginning if you want to skip to.
Started after Winter Soldier, generally AU, but we have adapted and reimagined Ultron and Civil War for this universe.

You’re not sure exactly when Clark started coming down to the cafe, but you are sure that he doesn’t belong here. Not in a snobby way, more in a—you are clearly from a much, much better plane of existence than all of these other assholes kind of way. You’re used to people who don’t make eye contact, who steal way too much Splenda and leave their phones on speaker, who mumble their orders while reading off an open Google Doc. He's different.
He holds doors open. Says thank you like it’s a full sentence. He apologizes when he’s the one getting bumped into.
And, crucially, he smiles at the espresso machine. As opposed to you.
