Percy Jackson always made it a point to smile and be funny. He loved making others laugh despite never being able to himself. He always loved smiling even if he couldnt feel that rush of happiness like others.
Nico Di Angelo hated it when people looked into his eyes. Into him. Sure. They all knew he was the weird depressed kid sitting in the hades cabin all day long. But they didnt know him. They didn't know what his life had been like. And frankly he didnt want them too. He'd keep quiet if it meant his pain would be quiet too.
Annabeth Chase had a bad life. Everyone knew not to question it. Annabeth knew not to think about it. Because then she'd spiral. And if she spiraled so would others. She was the strong one. So she was fine hiding it, if it kept others happy.
Leo Valdez. The humor man. The one they called the happiest in Camp Half Blood cried himself to sleep every night. And they'd never know. He hoped they never would see.
Thalia Grace was a hero. She was legendary for her sacrifice. That's all anyone really knew. They didnt see her bone deep pain. And she hoped they never would.
But the fates just had to show them all
