Summary
Kunimi looks around the court, examining the faces of their teammates. They lost that last point, annoyingly enough. The point gap doesn’t seem to be decreasing and they’re nearing the third set. Everyone seems to be getting desperate for a point, judging by Matsukawa’s tightened grimace (he absolutely refuses to call him Mattsun, no matter how much Oikawa wants him to) and Iwaizumi’s signature deep sighs, that he only lets out when he’s stressed in the middle of a game. Oikawa has a look on his face that Kunimi doesn’t think he’s ever seen before. He looks frazzled and desperate, almost childlike as he stares down the captain on the other side of the court. That last receive must have shook him, which is understandable. Oikawa’s serves are a force to be reckoned with, and Kunimi doesn’t think he could ever pick up something like that.
And then his eyes land on Kindaichi.

Summary
While the three of them have never spoken of that terrifying man called Tōji, Gojō’s sure some affection must remain. Blood ties and those who came before you have an infuriating way of trumping all, even if there’s more loathing than love.
All of Kenjaku’s words were true. Wouldn’t Megumi tell Tsumiki too?
Gojō holds the pair close and waits for a throatcutting that never arrives. He prays they don’t hate him enough to hurt him, but if either slid a knife through his neck and throttled him to his final breath, he’d let it happen.
It’s fair play. He isn’t sorry for what he did to Tōji.
He’s sorry for what it did to them.
In the aftermath of the Prison Realm, Gojō Satoru nurses his old wounds and creates new ones in others.

Summary
Max turned in the direction of the headstone as well. “Why would seeing someone’s name on there freak you out so much, Will. Jesus, I thought Vecna had you and I don’t have your music with me. I thought you were about to die, and I wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be, Byers, just tell me what's going on.”
Will just then found his mouth very dry and a lump set in his throat. Suddenly, all the words in his mouth died and he simply stared straight ahead.
“Will.” Max said softly after a few seconds. “Who’s grave is it?”
Will forced the lump down his throat as he answered her.
“It’s mine.”

Summary
“And why come back when so many are leaving Hawkins?”
Will slowed without meaning to. The leaves under his shoes crackled. “I–”
What should he tell this stranger that wouldn’t reveal the fact that his sister had superpowers and might actually be the only key to save this entire town from a monstrous maniac?
“Well, everyone I know is here,” he murmured. “I couldn’t… just leave them.”
The man hummed softly, then he lifted his head to scan over the woods, a faint whistle came from his lips, before his gaze landed onto Will again.
“Maybe something here wanted you back.”

fix-it ficmodern-gothic take on Will Byers' story in Season 5 .
