Summary
Izzy is up against the cabin wall in an instant, throat convulsing under the pressure of Edward’s gloved hand.
Stede’s lips purse in what Izzy takes to be clear disapproval of the violent display. His eyes narrow in satisfaction. Let the Gentleman Pirate see Blackbeard for who he truly is. Let him shrink in fear, turn away in disgust. Let Izzy take care of Ed the way that only he knows how.
Izzy lifts his eyes to lock with Stede’s, eager to drive the message home. But Stede isn’t looking at his face.
He feels the man’s gaze like an unwelcome caress as it drags up his body, burning a path from his freshly-healed toes to rest on the bulge between his legs, pink tongue darting between chapped lips as a pair of molten eyes finally rise to meet his own. Izzy’s jaw clenches.
“Now that’s no way to treat your Captain, Hands.”
Izzy’s not going to tell Stede he’s sorry. So Stede makes him show it instead.

Three days later Ed is splashing about in the bath that Stede had drawn for him, letting Stede braid his hair into a fancy crown when he mumbles, “Say. This might sound crazy, properly daft in fact, but- did you ask Izzy to let you watch us?”
“Er,” Stede says.
“Because I- I don’t know about that, mate. The things we do down below…don’t know as I want you to see them. Probably best left down there, yeah?”
Very gently, Stede pins Ed’s hair into place and then presses his fingertips in a fan along his scruffy cheeks, tipping his head back enough that Stede can kiss his forehead. “I disagree,” he murmurs. “In fact, I think it’s time to erase this separation, hm? No more above and below, in here or out there. I accept every part of you, Edward Teach, and that includes Blackbeard!”
“Hm,” is all Ed responds with.
