Neuvillette folds his arms over his chest, his leg bouncing for a brief moment. “I suppose it depends on your definition of friend.”
“Someone who sees you as Neuvillette. Not the Chief Justice, not the Iudex, just Neuvillette.”
The silence between them lasted for quite a while after those words left Wriothesley’s lips.

As the holidays approach, Neuvillette finds himself perplexed at the change in the tradition that he normally partakes in during this season. A talk with Wriothesley changes everything in more ways than one.
