Then he blinked, and the man was gone.
The cafe’s door did not swing shut. Its bell didn’t ring out. There was no possible way that he walked out of the building, Jon knew that for a fact but when he swiveled his head around to see if anyone else noticed, everyone was busy chatting or just minding their own business . Besides the barista who had been rudely eyeing him like he was on something, and quickly pretended to fiddle with the cash register when he glared back. He was not crazy.
Jon cleared his throat and adjusted his collar, putting on a mask of cool professionalism. A noticeable warmth seeped back into his skin when he stepped away from the table, though the chill had been lessening ever since that man left. Vanished. Because that did happen. He was not crazy.

"His mind hastily sharpened into focus from the meandering train of thought. His wall wasn’t empty anymore. Martin’s vision was a bit blurry without the aid of his glasses, but he could see the door very clearly. Where there had once been a scuffed blank wall now stood a sickly yellow door. In the darkness, the yellow was dull and ugly in a way that set Martin on edge.
...Through the yellow door’s gap came a long, spindly hand. It crept along the wall like a spider and fluttered for a moment – just a split second – before moving to the inner door knob and swinging the door open.

After all, how would the others react if they discovered that Jon's hand can reach incredible temperature, Martin is mostly made of black mould, Tim needs to Hunt to survive or Sasha can hide inside shadows ?
No, it's best they keep that a secret.Or, all the assistants and Jon are Avatars from the start, and Elias accidentally put together the most supernatural archival team possible. Of course, they are all oblivious to each other.
