Summary
Owen held on, grimly, his hands locking Avid's head in place as his body kept the rest of him pinned down. Glancing to the side through the curtain of his hair he could see Pyro standing close. Their eyes were glowing with bloodlust, a wooden stake clutched in their hands.
"Get on with it, then," Owen invited. Avid gurgled beneath him.

Summary
There was a ripping sound, then Josh’s, “Awww.”
“What happened?” Tyler stuck his head around the corner. Josh was standing by the desk, looking confused and a little bit betrayed.
“I dunno, I just—” Josh turned slightly, trying to look over his own right shoulder, revealing a ripped seam in his shirt with swirls of blue ink peeking through the gap. “I just moved my arm and this happened.”

Summary
“You don’t mind touching,” Martin repeated, trying very hard to actually hear what Jon was saying.
“I don’t mind touching,” Jon confirmed. “We do a lot of cuddling after all.”
Martin flushed further. “If that makes you uncomfortable—”
Another sigh. “Martin, if it made me uncomfortable I would have said something the first seventeen times you asked if I was uncomfortable."

Summary
Fiennén had heard of Morgan’s Spiral, though he’d never been.
Some described the curiously formed spiral in the sand, half filled with water. Newly awakened, Fiennén didn’t quite understand this phrase and had asked what the other half was filled with. “Risen,” his mentor replied, completely straightfaced.

Summary
The image of Louis seeing him off as he was dragged into the depths of hell is burned into Owen's mind. That alone - the knowledge that he's broken the heart of the only person he's met that was worth a damn - must have been considered enough of a torment that he got to skip the whole "tortured in the eternal inferno" thing.
Owen wakes up to find Oakhurst has been reset to the day he initially woke up from his nap. No blood has been spilled, no fires have been started - everyone is fresh on the land and completely unawares of the horrors that await them. To rub even more salt in the wound, Abolish's cure for vampirism followed him, and he was once more forced to live in his accursed human body.
Well, not that Owen cares, really. He's done his time. He's played this game once, and he couldn't even say he walked out satisfied. Let the humans and the vampires fight and kill each other - he's perfectly content to live out of sight and out of mind of those wretched people. He doesn't need their company, and it's not like anyone will notice or care if he's absent, besides.

Summary
The Doctor's heart was pounding. Louis had not ever heard someone sound so afraid before, but Louis could not think of why. Could not think of the blood on Owen's front, the red staining his teeth as he hissed a deep guttural growl at the Doctor, pale and ill looking and trembling with leashed violence.
"Owen," Legundo said, still gingerly kneeling, holding both his hands up and releasing Louis to do so. Louis was too tired after his previous struggle to reach Owen, could not take advantage and go to his love like he wished, but he called instead. A high pleading chirp that had Legundo flinching, although he did not turn to stare at Louis like he had before. He, like Louis, was not taking his eyes off Owen.
Owen, who was across the room from them. Surely if this was a dream, Owen would come here, he would not leave Louis cold and alone and hurting.
"Owen, I am not hurting him, please—"
"You're not leaving this place alive, Doctor. You've made a mistake, coming here, you and Avid both."

Summary
"Owen," protested the girl, and her face came into view. "You're scaring him!"
She looked young. Not much younger than Avid himself though— her hair was a deep russet red, her skin pale and dusted with freckles along the nose. She looked like any other girl in any other village, with an expensive looking skirt and a contrastingly simple woolen jumper. Her hair was plaited into ribbons, gathered in two elaborate bunches to either temple. It made her look younger than she was, combined with the careless way she knelt in the dirt, and the smoke, and the widening puddle of blood that Avid couldn't see the source of.
But when she saw Avid cowering in his stinking bloody box, she smiled, and Avid saw two very sharp teeth.

Summary
"Tell me, do your friends know where you are?”
Legundo didn’t answer. He simply swallowed, conscious of the fact that Scott could hear every mechanism and sound of his body, from the thud of his heart to the damp rasp of his palms as he clenched his fingers. He wondered if he could hear the creak of his joints, as Legundo shifted backwards away from that cold hand. If he did, he paid it no mind, the fingers on his chin instead sliding down to Legundo’s collar, where his starched coat hung open, showing the lacings of his shirt underneath.
There was skin there, between the cloth, and Legundo felt the tickling sharpness of claws against him as the fingers paused their journey. It was like being brushed with the tip of an icicle— cold, pointed. Legundo shivered, and flushed in embarrassment at the chuckle it brought from Scott, who stepped closer. He could hear air move now, and for a moment he was at a loss as what Scott could be doing since vampires didn’t need to breathe—
Until he realized Scott was smelling him.
(Or; Legundo gets bit by EVERY Vampire at some point or another, for varying reasons.)

Summary
Hermitcraft was supposed to be safe.
It was whitelisted to hell and back, with firewalls so robust that people came just to tour their security. Their void was remote, and even the usual connection between End City’s was pinched with enchantments so tight, that it meant the spiderweb cracks connecting it to the greater Game were only passable if you knew where they were—
And only Hermits knew where they were. Whoever these people were, they weren’t Hermits.
