Summary
The ballroom is emptier now, as revelry comes to a close. It scans its sight across the crowd once more. Nothing has changed since it last looked, no infection to be seen in the imprints of the Soul in their bodies.
It has received its mother’s gift and prayers in private before the event. The Hollow Knight does not consider its nail to be important to it - it cannot deem anything important to it - but the White Lady honors it with blessings carefully etched into a handmade sheath carefully made of Her own bark. “A fully realized Knight should have a fully realized blade and sheath,” She had said. The magic imbued would have the nail last long into the ages, even without consistent upkeep; a spell of Her own creation, thought up specifically for this purpose.

It is the Hollow Knight's coming of age ceremony, and no one was expecting a vessel to be able to flower. Nor how the pollen would effect the guests.

OR
Hollow always goes to you to fulfill their less-than-pure needs. This time, it just happens to involve a pretty, uh, necklace they've found...Bookmarked by dreamwing

Summary
They knew now. They knew everything like the back of their hand and they ached for the emptiness they felt at the beginning. They knew and it hurt.
Their twin left, their bloodied knuckles a sign of that but they could not scream in agony, they could cry in sadness, and they could not even convey their upset.
Just as Father intended.
