The words seem to echo in the quiet room for a second.
Bucky has his lips pressed together as if he’s trying to stifle a laugh, while Jason is just squinting at Clint skeptically.
“You can’t promise someone sexual favors for getting unbrainwashed,” Jason says, sounding remarkably scandalized for someone who probably just lost his virginity in a serial killer threesome.
“Why not?” Clint stretches lazily against Bucky’s side, feeling spectacularly content. “It’s not like I’m not gonna deliver."

The meteorologists have been absolutely clear, and the Sheriff’s Office has been amplifying the message far and wide. This is going to be a hell of a summer thunderstorm — torrential rain, gale-force winds, flash floods, and maybe even some scattered tornado activity. Everyone with even a lick of common sense has holed up with supplies. Only an absolute fool would be out in this weather.
Which is why when the phone rings at the Sheriff’s Office, Steve looks at Bucky and Bucky looks back at Steve, and both of them say at the same time, absolute resignation in their voices: “Barton.”

The man tilts his head back enough to signal the expression of intense derision that is no doubt occurring underneath the red polymer.
“Maybe I just put the mask on for special occasions. Like when some asshole ex-brainwashed assassin rolls in my window.”
“Happen a lot, does it?” Bucky moves back a step to lean against the wall, trying to signal his disinterest in starting some sort of fight.
“Would you be surprised to know you’re not the first?”

Summary
Bucky changes lanes, glaring at a Suzuki going ten kilometres below the speed limit in the passing lane. “Why the fuck are you so excited for this one, anyway?”
Jason grins, sharp and feral. “Human traffickers, baby. Looking for someone young and pretty to round out their next shipment. We know where they’re gonna hit tonight and SHIELD’s already nabbed the buyers, so we don’t even need to leave anyone alive once we locate the rest of the merchandise.”
And, yeah, there’s a lot of things about the job that Jason likes, but this scenario is pretty much custom made for him. He seems to get a very specific sort of satisfaction from playing all dewy-eyed and vulnerable, letting the bad guys think they have the upper hand, and then raining deadly fury down on their heads.
Well, Bucky thinks philosophically, everyone needs a hobby.

“I don’t have a problem!” Sam insists. “Bucky is not a problem. Bucky is on a beautiful journey of self-care and healing and making amends with his body, and I support him 100%.”
“Mmhmm,” says Sarah, and when Sam can tear his gaze away from Bucky, he sees that she’s fixing him with a sweetly compassionate gaze. He readies himself for some no-nonsense sisterly wisdom. In tones of deep sympathy, she says, “And you’re horny about it.”
Sam grits his teeth and grips the arms of his lounge chair. “I’m so horny about it, oh my god.”
Bucky is finally ready to make amends with himself, and specifically his body, but he might need to enlist some help. If that help involves kind of, sort of tricking an overworked Sam into doing some self-care and having some fun of his own, so much the better. Sam, meanwhile, is happy to help, it's just that helping Bucky is turning out to have the inconvenient side effect of falling for him too.
