Hawks sits on the back of his thighs, and Dabi buries his head into his pillow. He steadies his breath and waits.
Dabi gets a massage, kissed, and then like every perfectly normal, well-adjusted guy proceeds to have a crisis.

“You know I could warm you up, easy-peasy,” Dabi offers, after another gust of icy wind pushes at them, his fingers playing with the seams of his pockets. “All you have to do is ask.”
To prove his point, a wave of pleasant heat fills the space between them.
“Nah, I think I’ll go now,” Hawks smiles as he stretches out his wings. He ducks his head to stare at Dabi past his lashes. “After all, you’ve got what you wanted.”
They study each other amusedly, well aware of what the other is playing at and all too willing to partake in the game. In his chest, Hawks’ heart twinges in anticipation, pulsing harder and faster the longer Dabi continues to stare at him, his intent gaze full with a heady and unspoken: Not quite yet.
(Or: Hawks detests the cold. Dabi, of course, knows this.)

Now, there is Hawks. The hero is gentle with him like his mother once was, as if he’s something more than the amalgamated patchwork monster that had risen from the grave of a dead boy with one singular task in mind: destroy his creator, no matter the cost.
Affection has never been his to keep for long. Dabi doesn’t know what to do with it.
