Kuroo pauses for a moment. Probably in shock, Kenma figures. It’s a pretty amazing offer. “What are you talking about? You’ll buy all my paintings?”
“No, not exactly,” Kenma says. He stops to get his thoughts together. He has to be pretty clear with his words to not come across as a complete weirdo. But he feels his nervousness fade away as he talks to Kuroo for some reason: as if he’s someone Kenma has known for a long time somehow. “I want you to be my personal painter.” / In which rich boy Kozume Kenma hires struggling painter Kuroo Tetsurou as his personal painter. Loosely based around Painter of the Night, but much less NSFW/toxic.

Tetsurou's eyes widen. “Whaaat? But we’re so good! We made it to the Elite Eight last year, y’know?”
“Yeah, but not the Final Four,” Kenma says. “And I had our team going all the way, so you kind of messed up my bracket.”
“Ah, my sincerest apologies,” Tetsurou replies in an almost snarky tone. His face lightens a little bit, though, as he says, “Don’t worry, though. I plan on making it all the way this year. And winning the tournament, too.”
Kenma glances over at him. “You sure have a high opinion of yourself,” he says. / In which college student Kozume Kenma gets put in a group project with famous basketball player Tetsurou Kuroo and gets more invested than he would've ever wanted.

Summary
Before Kenma sleeps, he takes in Kuroo’s sleeping face, the way he drools a little bit and he mumbles dumb little nothings in his sleep. He imagines Hana from work seeing this face in her bed before she falls asleep instead. Kenma doesn’t like it. But then again, he’s never been fond of change. He supposes it’s just something he’ll have to work through. / In which Kuroo and Kenma don't know they're dating and Kuroo tries to look for love elsewhere - to no avail.

Summary
Kenma sits up, his heart pounding, and a piece of black hair falls into his eyes. A piece of black hair that’s far too recognizable.
“Kuro?” he mutters, but that’s ridiculous. There’s no one else in the bed with him. So where is the hair coming from? Unless…
He darts out of bed, moving faster than he ever has to turn on the light switch and then stare at himself in the mirror. It’s not his reflection that looks back at him, though.
