    Summary

Shinsou Hitoshi is in a dark place. His foster parents hate him. He's ridiculed for being mute in his class. And he's just lost the sports festival. His one chance to follow his dreams and join the hero course.

There's really no reason for him to keep going. Not until Eraserhead, his long time idol, offers to train him.

Aizawa tries to help a child who reminds him too much of himself. He only hopes he's not too late.

TW: There's some dark stuff in here. Please read the tags and stay safe. There's not going to be any character death, but there's a lot of ideation.

    Summary

Midoriya Izuku knows teachers are all the same. He had wanted so, so badly for Sensei to be different. He had always admired Eraserhead as a pro hero, and then Sensei had saved his life. And, yes, he was strict, but so much nicer than any teacher before.

But he was still a teacher. And Izuku was still a quirkless, useless freak who didn’t deserve any of this. Not for free, at least.

He thought he’d never have to go back. But he would, for his dream.

    --

Aizawa Shouta knows something's wrong with his problem child. Recklessness, lack of trust, and all the broken bones from a quirk the kid couldn't control. None of it made sense. And what finally tipped Aizawa over the edge was the most recent test results. His number one problem child kept missing questions Aizawa knows he should be getting correct. It was about time the underground hero got some answers from his student.

    Or:
Izuku has a bad history with teachers and tests. Aizawa and All Might make some realizations. Cue lots of panic attacks and even more crying.

    Summary

Aizawa Shouta was an underground hero, and a teacher trained to see all the signs of abuse. And from the moment he started training Shinsou Hitoshi, he had his suspicions.

He noticed the beat up clothing, the odd unexplained bruise here and there, the flinches at sudden movements, how the kid lit up at every little praise or kind word.

His student gave no indication anything was wrong at home, was quick to brush off any questions. A practiced liar, with a practiced nonchalant air.

It was frustrating, but Shouta knew there was nothing he could do until the kid admitted the truth to him, no matter what he suspected.

So the underground hero watched, and he waited. For the day his kid felt comfortable enough to come to him, or for a sign big enough that the school could investigate.

And a few months into training, it all came to a head.

    OR

Aizawa takes Hitoshi in with his emergency foster parent license. Hitoshi doesn't know how normal family dynamics work, but he's about to find out. Cue lots of hurt/comfort and family fluff.

    Summary

“What happened to your neck?” Aizawa asked.

“It’s nothing,” Hitoshi said. His voice rasped painfully when he spoke.

Aizawa’s eyes snapped to Hitoshi’s face when he heard him speak. He looked concerned. Huh, Hitoshi hadn’t expected that.
Clearly it’s not nothing kid. You look like you got strangled.”

“Seriously, it’s fine. It won’t affect my training.” He got into a solid fighting stance. “You said we were sparring today right?” He had to stop himself from wincing at the question.
